Harry’s godfather and an escaped convict who is innocent of his alleged crimes. He has offered his family home, Number Twelve, Grimmauld Place, to serve as the headquarters for the Order of the Phoenix, though he feels restless and trapped being confined inside it.
Albus Dumbledore
The Headmaster of Hogwarts and founder of the Order of the Phoenix, an organization dedicated to fighting Voldemort. He has been stripped of several prestigious titles by the Ministry of Magic and strangely avoids making direct eye contact with Harry.
Lord Voldemort (You-Know-Who, He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named)
The dark wizard who has recently regained his physical form and power, though the Ministry of Magic officially denies his return. He operates in the shadows to rebuild his army of Death Eaters and seeks a specific object hidden within the Department of Mysteries.
Severus Snape
The Potions Master at Hogwarts and a member of the Order of the Phoenix. While he retains his usual hostility toward Harry, he is tasked by Dumbledore with a critical and secret mission to teach Harry how to shield his mind from external intrusion.
Dolores Umbridge
The Senior Undersecretary to the Minister for Magic, distinguishable by her toad-like appearance and obsession with pink. She is appointed as the new Defence Against the Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts to enforce Ministry standards and suppress rumors of Voldemort's return.
Luna Lovegood (Loony Lovegood)
An eccentric Ravenclaw student in Ginny Weasley's year who is introduced to Harry and his friends on the Hogwarts Express. She is known for her unique fashion sense, belief in strange conspiracy theories, and lack of concern for social norms.
Neville Longbottom
A clumsy but well-meaning Gryffindor student who often struggles with self-confidence. As Harry’s dormmate, he becomes an increasingly staunch ally, showing a surprising determination to improve his defensive magic skills.
